Selecting or changing the preview engine

For some file types Explorer View has more than one preview engine available to view a file.

With some file types, Explorer View gives the user the option to preview with it's inbuilt preview engine, or to use the creating application if it is installed. For example, it is possible to preview an Adobe PDF file using Acrobat Reader.

Available preview engines are shown by clicking the drop down arrow in the Explorer View tool bar. If a preview engine is not available, the view defaults to hexadecimal or text.
